SWA and Gujarat Literature Festival launch ‘Indian Screenwriters Festival’

The Screenwriters Association is collaborating with Gujarat Literature Festival for their 8th edition, to be held in Ahmedabad, from December 18 to 22, 2019, at Gujarat University premises. As a specially curated sub-festival under the GLF umbrella, a first of its kind ‘Indian Screenwriters Festival’ (ISF) will be launched, in Ahmedabad. ISF is being held in association with Screenwriters Association, Mumbai, and will serve as a platform for an exciting dialogue and exchange between screenwriters from the Hindi film industry and Gujarati cinema.

Under ISF, stimulating One on One sessions with maverick writer Vijayendra Prasad (in conversation with Abhijeet Deshpande) and ace writer-director Vishal Bhardwaj (in conversation with Anjum Rajabali) will be conducted on December 21 and 22, respectively. In addition, a 5-day screenwriting workshop has been planned in association with Whistling Woods International, from December 18 to 22, 2019. This extensive workshop will have instructors like Anjum Rajabali (screenwriter, senior SWA activist & EC member), Vinod Ranganath (screenwriter, senior SWA activist & EC member), Shellee (lyricist & SWA EC member) and Abhijeet Deshpande (writer-director & SWA EC member), along with other noted screenwriters.
